The NN Cannery History Project appreciates your interest and contributions to the project. In developing an Alaska State Museum exhibit that reflects the cannery life, we invite your thoughts and ideas as to what artifacts might represent the cannery experience. The exhibit will be based upon what you might find in the buildings on a cannery campus such as the mess hall, warehouse, fish house, bunkhouses, hospital, laundry building, salt house, shop and store as well as the yards and surrounding landscapes. Objects may be whatever strikes you as representative of what you or someone you know experienced during life at any seafood cannery, not just the NN Cannery.
We would like to invite you to share your cannery photographs, videos, writings (poems) or artwork (drawings, paintings), or photographs of artifacts that exemplify cannery life so we can add them to the digital Artifact Gallery and Storyboard collections on this website. Use of any media, writing, or artwork and their associated information will be the sole purpose of the project’s promotion and education of the cannery life.
