"In South Naknek, I found my voice."

Oscar Peñaranda

The NN Cannery History Project gained significant media attention this year. Exposure includes articles published in Alaska Magazine, Pacific Fishing, Point Roberts Press, and E&E News of Washington D.C. and Ravn’s Alaskan Spirit in-flight magazine. Media outlets such as KDLG in Dillingham, KSKA and KNBA in Anchorage, KTOO in Juneau, KTUU in Anchorage, and Radio Free Palmer have featured stories and conducted inter- views with team members on their respective broadcasts. KTVA-TV (CBS) reporter, Rhonda McBride, also accompanied our team to South Naknek in June for a 2-part series on the news series, Frontiers.
